Georges Lignier er med 1,49 hektar største ejer i denne uforlignelige Grand Cru, der som det er skik i Bourgogne har lagt "efternavn" til kommunen Morey. Marken ligger højere, og det blæser ifølge Benoit Stehly mere her end i nabo Grand Cru'en Clos de la Roche. Så vinen fra Clos Saint Denis er mere delikat og har større finesse og større mineralitet i den intense og koncentrerede smag. Kvaliteter, der oftere forbindes med Grands Crus fra nabo kommunen Chambolle-Musigny! 

97 point - James Suckling: "How could you resist this fabulously seductive wine from one of the least well-appreciated grand cru sites in Burgundy. The enveloping Amarena-cherry aroma pulls you into this masterpiece that marries richness and finesse. The freshness at the super-long finish is remarkable and makes you want more and more of this elixir! From a 1.49-hectare parcel, which is the largest in this site. Matured in small oak barrels of which 40% were new. Drinkable now, but best from 2027."

16,5 ++ point (16,5/20) - Jancis Robinson : "Cask sample. Heady and powerful on the nose. Lots of richness and grunt. Something to get your teeth into! Essence of Morey distilled. But not that persistent, although it’s certainly longer than the other wines in this producer’s range. Powdery finish."
