Josmeyers Pinot Auxerrois fremstilles af druer fra mere end 50 år gamle vinstokke, der står plantet i Grand Cru Hengst - hvor denne drue i parentes bemærket ikke er autoriseret. Det betyder, at der ikke må stå Grand Cru Hengst på etiketten, og Josmeyer benytter derfor betegnelsen "H". Viriliteten fra Grand Cru Hengst er umiskendelig, og den fyldige, bløde stil får tilført en dybde, kraft og kompleksitet, der er uhørt for en Pinot Auxerrois.
91 point - Anne Krebiehl, Vinous: "The 2021 Pinot Auxerrois H Vieilles Vignes is from a 1960s-planted parcel in the limestone soils of Hengst Grand Cru. A lovely, salty creaminess precedes the white pear flesh flavors on the nose. The palate comes in with immediate freshness, slenderness and concentration, as befits 2021. There is a lovely lemon zestiness that pervades the body and finish, very mouth-watering and rather long. Isabelle notes that this did not go through malo-lactic fermentation, which accounts for the vivid freshness. The finish has a real sense of iron oxide. (Bone-dry)"
