Farven er dyb rubinrød med violette reflekser. Duften er kompleks med rene, livlige noter af brombær, blåbær, kanel, chokolade og lakrids. Smagen er blød og harmonisk med en god struktur og søde tanniner. Vinen munder ud i en lang, fyldig og frugtig finish. Donna Olimpia 1898 er lavet på en blanding af Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot og Cabernet Franc. En imponerende signaturvin fra Donna Olimpia 1898.

93 point - James Suckling: "There's beautiful fruit and freshness to this red from Bolgheri, which is precise in its delivery of blueberries, violets, citrus and raspberries. Fine and silky and very polished indeed, thanks to pretty tannins and a taut finish."

92 point - Robert Parker: "The 2016 Bolgheri Rosso is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. There is a slightly sweet note here that comes across as wild cherry or boysenberry. You also get plum, rose hips and pretty layers of exotic spice. The bouquet is immediate and focused, and the wine delivers a mid-weight feel that is fresh and firm in terms of structure. This Bolgheri blend is aged in French barriques for up to 14 months. This vintage offers terrific value."
