Blandt ”Year’s Best Barossa”, The Wine Enthusiast: “This grows in northern Barossa’s Ebenezer district, the vines between 35 and 120 years old. After 16 months in oak (40 percent new), the wine is warm and rich, with notes of black cherries, dates and turmeric. It’s a heavyduty style, with the dusty tannins to take on merguez sausages.”

92 point, RobertParker.com: "Even better than the 2015, Glaetzer's 2016 Bishop Shiraz is very similar in style, with many of the same notes of charred meat, espresso, black olives and blackberries, but with a greater sense of freshness and vitality, even a touch of red raspberry fruit. It's full-bodied and supple, turning velvety on the long finish. I'm being conservative in estimating its drinking window, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were still going strong in 2030."

95 point, James Halliday: "Deep Crimson-purple; a complex wine, both in terms of its savoury flavours and its texture. Black fruits provide the core of the palate, with graphite, earth and tannins all on parade. It has absorbed and totally integrated the oak, which suits the wine."

Recommended, Decanter: "Shy on the nose, but with powerful dark fruit on the palate, savoury aspects and vanilla oak. Juicy fruit and an inky finish, though tannins are unresolveed."

Bishop fremstilles 100% af Shiraz fra 35 og 120 år gamle vinstokke plantet i det eksklusive Ebenezer-distrikt i Barossa Valley. Vinen er lagret 14 måneder på fade af fransk og amerikansk eg. Duften byder på klingende rene toner af blåbær og solbær med et let strejf af mørk chokolade og vanille. Smagen er kraftfuld og meget koncentreret, og eftersmagen er meget, meget lang. Nydes gerne som ledsager til kraftigt oksekød, lam og dyrevildt.
